What is Layers?
Layers: Daily Word Connections is made by Hidden Layer Labs. Each daily puzzle connects several kinds of word solving: LetterLock, Anagram, Crossword and Word Search supply words for a final grouping challenge. Clueffy’s Day 21 caption names Layers and links it through the #layers tag. You can open the current puzzle in a browser without installing an app.

QUICK START / CONTROLS
How to play Layers
- Open the official browser game and begin the current daily puzzle. Solve the four mini-games in whichever order suits you.
- Use letter feedback in LetterLock, rearrange the anagram, solve the crossing clues and search the grid for its clued word. Each completed mini-game unlocks one word.
- On the Final Board, read all sixteen words. Select four that share a specific connection and submit the group.
- Correct groups leave the board and reveal their category. Continue until you solve all four groups or exhaust the allowed mistakes.
Layers scoring explained
The key limit on the Final Board is the number of mistakes remaining. A correct submission resolves one group of four words; using all your mistakes ends the board and reveals the remaining groups. This guide does not assign a points total or a fixed mistake count that the published rules do not specify. The official rules say playing the daily puzzle maintains a streak even if the Final Board is not completed.

Layers strategy & tips
Keep a small list of candidate meanings
When one word suggests several connections, hold those meanings separately instead of forcing an early choice. A possible noun, verb or phrase fragment can lead to different groups. Reconsider it after other words have been removed.
Test the weakest member
Before submitting four words, explain why the least convincing member belongs. If its link needs a different rule from the other three, keep searching. One vague association is a good reason to delay a guess.
Change tasks when attention stalls
The mini-games use different skills. If an anagram stops making sense, try a clue-based task and return with a fresh view. Reserve a separate pause for reading the complete Final Board before making your first submission.
