What is Hopdown?
Hopdown turns open-answer trivia into a bunny’s underground expedition. You name something that fits a category, and accepted answers move the burrow according to rarity. The original game by Princeton Lock offers a shared daily dive, Unlimited and multiplayer options. Solo play does not require an account.

How to play Hopdown
- Open Hopdown and select today’s dive for the shared daily questions, or Unlimited for a longer practice run.
- Read the topic and any restrictions. Type a single example before the clock expires.
- If a guess is rejected, try another while time remains; watch the reveal to see how far an accepted answer digs.
- Finish the daily set to review your depth. Unlimited continues until its three lives are lost.
Hopdown scoring explained
The original rules describe six rarity tiers, from extremely common to deep cut. Less common accepted answers move the bunny farther, with progress measured in metres. Solo questions start at 15 seconds and shorten by half a second per question to a 9-second floor. Unlimited loses a life on a skip or timeout. Exact metre payouts are not specified in the About page, so we do not invent a conversion table.

Use your strongest topics
In practice, notice which categories give you several reliable examples. Build recall around those topics before chasing obscure names from unfamiliar subjects.
Adjust to the shorter clock
A long Unlimited run gives you less thinking time per question. Start forming your answer as soon as you understand the restriction, and keep your input concise.
Learn from one rejection
A rejected spelling can be worth correcting if the fix is obvious. When you are unsure the example fits at all, move to a different answer while the timer still permits it.

Is Hopdown free?
The official About page says all its modes are free. You can start solo play without an account.
Does everyone get the same daily questions?
Yes. The original rules describe one shared set of seven daily questions. Unlimited draws a separate stream for practice.
How do I join the daily leaderboard?
The original site says signed-in players’ first daily result counts on its public leaderboard. Browsing this directory does not create a Hopdown account.
